COVID-19 Message From The Owner

Updated: Mar 25, 2020

My Dear Friends and Loyal Patrons (Miei cari amici e fedeli mecenati),

Like all of you, I continue to watch the growing numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Virginia as well as the growing concern surrounding the ability of our community and our nation to contain and halt the spread of this deadly virus. I can’t thank you enough for support this week as we offered our To-Go orders. As a member of this community and as a businessman, I will be very transparent with you and say that I’m struggling with what is the right thing to do in this unprecedented time. I sincerely want to support the needs of our community by offering the option of authentic Italian food with To-Go ordering.

I want to support my team, knowing that they have families to provide for and bills to pay. More importantly, I want to enable my team to be able to care for their families with the time off to be prepared for this Pandemic. I also want to be socially responsible and do my part to help protect our community. After a great deal of thought, I have decided to close Carmela’s at The Loft temporarily until further notice. Saturday night, March 21st will be our last night to offer To-Go ordering and we will close as of 8:00pm.

I know I have and I’m sure a lot of you have weathered many a storm in our years of business and I’m confident we all will weather this one. I have faith in the good Lord up above and I have faith in mankind. Our community has shown in the past that when we come together for the good of all, we are indeed strong and successful – remember our tornado in April of 2018? I feel a strong need to be proactive and step up my social responsibility.

Again, I can’t thank you enough for your support and your love of Carmela’s. I can’t wait to see you and serve you once the storm has passed. Stay tuned for information about our reopening, Tour of Italy Wine Dinners and other special events. Our website www.Carmelasattheloft.com and our Facebook page will help keep you up to date in addition to email. Until then, please be safe, please take all necessary precautions, and stay well. May God bless you all!

Stay safe and hope to see you soon! (Stai al sicuro e spera di vederti presto!)
